このプロジェクトは、日本ミツバチなどのポリネーター(受粉者)が健全に生育できる環境の手助けを行うことによって、里山やその周辺の森林における樹木の受粉を促し、樹木が健全に生殖行為を営み、その結果として森の中の木の実な゛とが豊富に実り、そのエリアに生息する野生動物達の食糧が健全に供給されることによって、当該エリアに生息する野生動物達の保護保全につながることを目的とする。
2019年にNPO法人ビーフォレストクラブ(奈良県)の吉川理事長の指導を受け、埼玉県日高市女影の活動拠点に５台の日本みつばちの巣箱を設置し、2020年、埼玉県狭山市で日本ミツバチ飼育セミナー、巣箱制作研修、巣箱設置研修を実施し、15名の方が参加されたことによってこの活動をスタートした。
この活動は、
(1)日本ミツバチの巣箱を設置し、里山内の大木の減少による日本ミツバチの巣の設営場所の減少を防ぐ。
(2)花蜂の生育場所の減少に伴う生息地の減少を防止する目的で、人口の生息場所である「インセクトホテル」や「バクハウス」と呼ばれる花蜂やその他ポリネーターや昆虫類達の巣になりうる環境をもうける。
(3)里山内における倒木や広葉樹の落葉による昆虫類生息環境を保全し、野生動物の中でも特に雑食性の動物類の食糧となる昆虫の幼虫類が発生する環境を保全する。
(4)行政に働きかけることによって、上記ポリネーターとしての昆虫類を保全するために、鳥獣保護地域と同じような、昆虫保護地域の指定を提案し、そのエリア内での農薬の使用の制限、昆虫の殺虫剤の制限などを促すことによって、昆虫が殺虫されない環境を保全していく努力をしていく。
