<About the situation of Japanese honeybees and their potential as pollinators>

Japanese honeybees are native flower bees that inhabit Japan. Its nature is gentle, and it is an insect that has lived close to the nature of Japan since ancient times as a pollinator of flowers that bloom plants that live in the wilderness without eating other organisms. Today, its habitat is rapidly deteriorating and its numbers are declining rapidly. As of 2020, the effects are gradually disappearing in various scenes, and we think that the invasion of wild animals that caused a lot of media noise from this autumn to winter is one of them. I am. The food that wild animals eat in the mountains is decreasing. In particular, the nuts that animals eat as their staple food from autumn to winter, such as acorns, have been in a great recession in the satoyama area near Tokyo for the past three years. The hills that used to function as satoyama have tended to slow down, and trees such as oak and oak should have escaped logging, but acorns do not bear fruit even in the fall. One of the causes of this phenomenon is thought to be the decrease in flower bees such as Japanese honeybees. We can't stand to see wild animals living in satoyama descending into the city and being exterminated as vermin due to lack of food.
